DARKNESS - MARCO...POLO! - WHERE ARE YOU? Have you ever played Marco...Polo? This a game where you have to listen for the voice of the one you are pursuing. It can be played while swimming, in the woods where you can hide, or in the darkness of night. You say Marco and the other person must say Polo so you can follow the voice until you find them. The next miracle God performs to show his power is to bring a deep and terrifying darkness over the land of the Egyptians but NOT over the land of Goshen where Gods people live. During all that time the people scarcely moved, for they could not see. But there was light as usual where the people of Israel lived. Exodus 10, NLT There are many in our world who still live in deep, terrifying darkness, afraid to move, afraid of people because of past hurts, afraid of losing jobs, afraid of ________. You can fill in the blank. They call out, but no one in the world is trying to find them. It is not a game of Marco-Polo anymore. It is a life lived without Light. Without God. But there is hope! Call out to God. Seek Him. Listen for His Voice. And You will be found! Immediately. Pharaoh tries to strike up a compromising bargain with God through Moses. Moses says, no deal. It has to be as the LORD has commanded. All of it. What is God telling us today? To compromise with the world is to continue to live in darkness with constant, debilitating fear. To fully live in faith and trust in God, without compromise of His commandments, is to live in Light. Will bad things happen? Yes, but living in the Light, we can see our way through lifes circumstances. We cannot be plagued by the darkness if we are truly Gods people. Get out of here! Pharaoh shouted at Moses. Dont ever let me see you again! The day you do, you will die! Very well, Moses replied. I will never see you again. Exodus 10, NLT Then the LORD said to Moses, I will send just one more disaster... Exodus 11 Dear Heavenly Father, We have learned about human stubbornness as we have studied Your Word. Today, we resolve to avoid compromising with the darkness and stay in the Light of Your Love, Mercy and Grace. When we call out to You, You answer. Every. Time. It is not a game. So, we are grateful for You. We love You. Continue to teach us and grow us! In Jesus Name, Amen
