DARLINGTON Bar & Catering Manager Darlington Arena - Darlington Mowden Park RFC Following promotion runs and a groundbreaking deal to acquire the 25,000-seater Darlington Arena, ambitious rugby club Darlington Mowden Park RFC have an opening for a Bars & Catering Manager. The exciting post will form a key part of the Clubs growing off field team. Revival of what is now England’s largest rugby specific venue aside from Twickenham Stadium, alongside the Club’s strategic plans, represent opportunity for the correct applicant to take ownership on a landmark venture. To take ownership and drive the complete operation of all Arena bars and basic associated catering requirements. To work as part of the commercial team and staff to deliver financial targets and grow Arena trade. Principal Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities · Take full responsibility for the effective operation of all the bars and associated catering · Take full responsibility for the profitability of bars and catering and to assist the commercial team in proactively driving this profitability towards budgeted targets · To oversee full stock-taking and audits · To provide reporting for performance, standards, stock-take and financial profitability of bars · To regularly review overall P&L accounts with the arena manager and commercial manager with the view of achieving budgeted targets · To lead, develop, train and drive a team of front of house staff that delivers the Club’s values and family friendly ethos through a first class front of house and customer service at all times · To ensure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to in line with company policy, taking into account security and the health & safety of people and property · To control all aspects of expenditure in the bars including sales, stock, staff wages and petty cash. · To be accountable for all cash and financial management throughout the bars, including any third-party provider involvements. · Work in all areas of the bars, floors, cellars and kitchens, to ensure that best practice is maintained by the team and that any areas requiring improvement may be identified. · Manage all delivery processes, including checking in orders, storage, stock rotation, security, loss investigation and staff training · Be responsible for accurate rota-planning, based on forecast, demand, wage, budget (set by arena manager) · To fulfil basic catering requirements for Bar areas · In conjunction with the arena event co-ordinator, to take responsibility for the catering requirements for an array of arena events, sometimes working alongside third party catering suppliers, always ensuring that events run in a successful and professional manner · To be a main driver in actively increasing trade within in the Arena bars through quality of service, promotions and having an understanding of point-of-sale incentives · Manage all stock-management processes, including timely stock counts, line checks, wastage reports, loss investigation and staff training · Complete product-ordering on time, every time; ensure full availability of all drink, food and non-consumable items · Follow required security procedures, including loss prevention measures and procedures for the security of staff and premises, at all times · Be aware of and adhere to licensing, data protection, Health & Safety at Work and COSHH legislation, at all times · Identify and monitor training needs and take an active role in developing people · Communicate effectively with the DMP team, through regular meetings – manager’s meetings held weekly · Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training to all staff · Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws · Carry out any duties as instructed by arena manager and commercial manager To deliver the Club’s values and family friendly ethos through a first class front of house and customer experience. https://jobsearch.direct.gov.uk/GetJob.aspx?JobID=4235234
