DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR The role of the database administrator is to design, implement, maintain, configure, upgrade, repair, improve the performance and secure the Database instances running in within the organization Key Performance Areas Plan, analyze and implement the procedure to ensure the availability of Oracle and other Databases at all times (24 x 7) or as agreed on the SLAs Develop standards to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect valuable information Design, implement to safeguard access to the database, upgrade those procedures as and when the technology changes Prepare weekly and monthly management reports as requested by the Head of Information Systems Provide L1 and L2 support for critical Production and or test database servers Monitoring the health of the database and taking corrective measurements to rectify issues and provide root cause analysis (RCAs) Qualifications The position requires a University Degree in Information Technology, certified in Database Administration/Professional (OCA/OCP) or in possession of a relevant industrial qualification.
