DAV Chapter 12 Stanly County Lifemember Ronald F. Hope was elected National Senior Vice Commander of the 1.2 Million member Disabled American Veterans organization at 92nd Annual National Convention of DAV, last week. Ron was commander of DAV Chapter 12 in 2001/2002 and retired as Area Supervisor of the DAV National Service Office at the Winston-Salem VA Regional Office. "We are very proud of Ron and that he is a member of Chapter 12", said Chapter Commander David Thompson, of Norwood, NC. He continued, "We look forward to wecoming him home at the chapter". DAV Chapter 12 Stanly County is a non-profit, charitable veterans service organization located at 1540 Highway 24/27 Bypass West in Albemarle, NC. They meet each month on the last Tuesday of the month at 7 PM. The next meeting is on August 27th. Their membership is comprised of war-time veterans of US military service who were either wounded, injured, treated or hospitalized while on active duty or since that duty, have been "service-connected by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, or holders of the Purple Heart Medal or former Prisoners of War.
