DAVID CAMERON WANTS TO PRIVATISE THE NHS THROUGH THE BACK DOOR --- WHAT COULD IT MEAN FOR YOUR???? Here are a few post that I found on the American system that David Cameron wants to emulate in Britian. Is it the sort of healthcare system that you and your family really want to rely on?? What about this post by an American? [–]bittergrapes 3 points 1 year ago When I made minimum wage and had a small child, I was told I made too much money to qualify for anything at all. Of course, over the years, my income gradually increased. Now I have insurance, but to afford the premium, my deductible is $7500. So I have insurance, but cant afford to use it. Funny how things like that work out. I used to tell my child to get a good education so she could get a good paying job. Now I think how I will someday stress to my grandchildren how very important it is to get a good education so they can get a good paying job so they can save every penny they can for insurance and medical care. Not a nice car, nice home, none of those luxury items like vacations, just insurance and medical coverage. 13 mins · Like Or this one. [–]jakj 27 points 1 year ago Thats easy, though: If youre only poor but not broke, when you get the bills, you become broke. Then youre set for life, even though you wont have one anymore. Honestly, in America, the uninsured like me just hope we die if we get anything. Or this one. [–]BillTowne 14 points 1 year ago* Hospitals are required to do emergency care even if you cannot pay. But if you need treatment that is not considered an emergency, then you are often out of luck. If you have cancer and need chemo, you will not generally get it if you do not have insurance or money up front. If you have insurance but they refuse to pay for a given therapy, then you do not get it. My wife has cancer, and her insurance was very good. But we know lots of other people that have had their care delayed or denied because insurance would not cover it. My wifes good friend that died last week of cancer spent weeks in pain waiting for her insurance company to agree to pay for pain medication because morphine had stopped working. tl;dr: If you dont have insurance, then you are often dont get care in the US. 6 mins · Like I dont think the American healthcare system is any good at all especially if it means giving up our own NHS. What do you think?
