DAWSON UPDATE! All of you who are asking about your HOPE sisters at Dawson...here is an update: They are moving the men first and some women on 7th floor were moved today. Everyone is scheduled to be moved off by August 15-16th. We have been told HOPE women will be moved last. Obviously, it is TDCJ who will be deciding where they will be going. I have asked that the HOPE women be housed together and our liaison said he would do what he could to make that happen, however, he is not in charge. Ms Jan went in today to all the dorms and they seemed to be doing fine. HOPE volunteers will continue to go in until all the women have been moved. Ms. Camilia is doing an excellent job of keep them balanced. Some of the women have decided to drop out. Of course, we cannot get them moved out. It would be great if those who were eligible for the 8/20 time reduction would be given this without having to be moved. Pray for the judges to make this happen. All the volunteers at Dawson are grieving for the loss of their programs and people they served. Pray for all of them. Pray for the staff who are losing their jobs. Pray for your HOPE sisters to not be afraid when they are moved. Pray for HOPE as we visit new sites for the program and also for us as we moved all the "stuff" off Dawson.
