DAY 1 of the NO candy, cake, chips, white bread, fast food, chocolate, ice cream for 21 days challenge. 3 little lame weeks....thats it. You guys can do this. 100s of you accepted this challenge and Ill be dropping meal plans into some mailboxes today :)) Im so pumped for you. Why shouldnt this be your year???? And why not start right now?? I absolutely despise the phrase, Ill start tomorrow....WHY????? There will always be a tomorrow, and you always promise yourself that youll start then. Turn it around and QUIT TOMORROW instead! What is the worst thing that will happen? You might wake up really pumped and proud of yourself...thats probably the WORST thing that will happen. So lets get real...whats gonna happen to your body for the next several days? A LOT. If youve been on a junk road for any amount of time, then lets just put it out there: youre probably gonna be a crab, your head will most likely hurt and you will go through sugar withdraw. And those things suck, which is the very reason why we cave, give in, and promise ourselves we will start over tomorrow, that were just going to have one last day. Bullcrap. Stop that now. Where has that always gotten you? You cannot get past this unless you go through it. And theres SO many of you saying youre going to go through it, so now is the best time EVER! What can you do? Heres what I did: Keep the Advil close (or Tylenol, aspirin or your favorite headache cure). If you dont like meds....10-12 almonds have the same affect :)) Drink a butt ton of water. Not sure how much that is? Then you arent drinking that amount yet. Grab yourself a 20 ounce bottle and set a goal of 8-10 of those bottles. Its a lot, sure...but youre flushing out a lot too. Take a walk. Even if its for 5 minutes. Why? Just because your body will be happy that you are moving it intentionally for even a few minutes and you might even find yourself wanting to move it more. EAT!!!!!! This whole restriction/deprivation thing is garbage. Food is FUEL and if you want your body to burn fat that youve got hangin around then you need to give it the energy to burn. Protein is the most thermodynamic macronutrient there is. That means, eating lean protein will help you lose fat the quickest and it will also help stabilize your blood sugar AND keep your insulin in check. Did you know that when your insulin spikes your body STOPS BURNING FAT? Stabilize that blood sugar. If youre dyin for something sweet, eat 1/2 cup of berries and a handful of almonds or macadamia nuts. Low sugar/high protein/high fiber protein bars like Quest bars will help curb all kinds of stuff. DID I MENTION EATING AND DRINKING WATER????????? This isnt forever, its just for right now. All youre doing is healing your body and getting healthy. One of the side effects of eating healthy is weight loss....you just might shock the heck out of yourself at the end of these 3 weeks. NO STARTING TOMORROW!!!! We start now. Today. We arent promised a tomorrow and we have the privilege of working hard today. Youve got this :)) #LegionOfBoom
