DAY 12 of 40 DAYS IN THE WORD “FAITH TRUMPS FACTS” The - TopicsExpress

DAY 12 of 40 DAYS IN THE WORD “FAITH TRUMPS FACTS” The more we spend time in God’s Word, something begins to churn inside of us as we read story after story about individuals and sometimes whole nations were facing impossible situations and God showed up and not only saved the day, but spared their lives. Our 40 DAYS IN THE WORD hopefully is an encouragement to you to take time each day, for 40 days (you get weekends off as we are expecting you to be in church). The more of the Bible you read, the more your faith will grow. That is straight from the Word, “FAITH COMETH BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD.” So, if you need more faith, go to God’s Word. There are so many times in life that when the facts of something are disclosed, not only do we, but our closest friends expect the worst. Can this be turned around? I absolutely believe it can. When we are walking with God, FAITH WILL TRUMP FACTS every time. Now let’s be clear. I did not say we received something or things turn out as we expected. I said FAITH TRUMPS FACTS, meaning our complete confidence is in God, His wisdom, power, authority and control. When things get tough and we are no longer in control of a situation, our mind tells us, “It’s over!” I want you to realize our God is bigger than facts. He can make a river out of a desert. He can see that someone gets a promotion that was expecting to be laid off. He is an awesome God and if you are surrendered to Him, He holds you in the palm of His hand. One touch of God’s favor can override any fact! FACTS say, “There is no way.” God’s Word says, “God can make a way.” FACTS say, “This is impossible.” The Bible says, “With God all things are possible.” FACTS say, “You can’t do this.” God says, “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.” Facts say, “NO!” God says, “YES!!!”. FACTS say, “You can’t accomplish your dream.” God says, “I have a plan and purpose for your life.” Facts say, “You will never overcome this addition.” God says, “According to your faith be it unto you.” Facts say, “You will never get well.” God says, “Rise and be healed.” In Mark 5 tells us a story about a lady who had a physical problem for twelve years. She had gone to every doctor possible and one writer says, “She spent all she had,” trying to get well. Instead of getting better, she got worse. One day she heard that Jesus was passing by. She felt embarrassed and unclean, but realized Jesus was her only hope. She decided to get close enough to “touch His garment”, but not say a word to Him. This was enough faith and it overcame the facts of her life and she was healed. Don’t let Satan destroy your present life as well as the future with everyone saying, “These are the facts!” When we walk, pray, and act in faith, it is these things that get God’s attention! Remember, it doesn’t matter how dark the situation, “It isn’t over until God says it’s over!” His thoughts are not your thoughts and His ways are not your ways. HIS ARE MUCH, MUCH BETTER!! Choose FAITH - - not facts! “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) Pastor Carnes
