DAY 27...Today, my dad was awake for 45 minutes doing PT...and opened his Left eye a little again! He was able to respond to commands on the right side much better today as far as PT goes. The doctors say he is medically ready to start rehab...even though I dont think so, which is why I called a meeting with them tomorrow morning so they can explain to me how they came to that conclusion. Swelling is still improving and the bruises are looking better. He is going to have another evaluation by rehab tomorrow morning to see what he is capable of and what type of rehab program he needs. I still think he is going to need a LOT of encouragement as he starts a new chapter of this challenge. We dont know when he will actually be moved yet...assuming nothing else comes up between now and then. Overall, it felt like a good day..I just cant wait to see him take more baby steps. I need sleep tonight....tomorrow I have to shine when it comes to organization and being the voice my dad needs. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with the time I have been able to give back to my dad after everything he has done for me. The situation is without a doubt horrible...but I am going to have faith this will bring us closer than I ever thought possible, and one day he will hear his story. Thank you all for the continuous prayers, they are always needed. They give me hope as I face the days to come. God bless everyone for being so supportive.
