DAY 330 | Shani Reaux | Singer Shani Reux is an up and coming artist in the vibrant NOLA music scene. With the eyes of an owl and a voice that is a homogenous mixture of Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, and India Arie, she has captured the attention of many local fans and musicians alike. While many listeners have found themselves enchanted by her raspy, but fluid tones, she is making a name for herself with musicians for her dexterity as a songwriter. Her lyrics demand an audience because they are biographies within themselves; a snippet of trials, triumphs and growing pains that can be easily tethered to generations from ages 10 to 100. When she’s not writing or singing, she can be found doing makeup for friends, shopping for odd bowties, and supporting other local artists. Shani Reux has a fun-loving and uninhibited spirit and cites that she is continually striving to be her best self.
