DAY 6 -DAILY NOTICE Thursday, 12 February 2014 Music dept: Stage band 1 rehearsals will be on Thursday mornings only this year (not Mondays) starting tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. in the music block. In the band are: Andrew Boot, Sam Evans, Drew Wood, Josh Wood, Curt Evans, Sam Tullett, Kalin Wara, Richard Gottlieb, Teague Harvey, Alex Fraser Chappell, Jake McComb, Connor Rust, Martin Leith and George Mohi. Year 11, 12 & 13 students are invited to call into the Transition Office at intervals and lunchtimes to express interest in participating in STAR courses this year. This year the process will be different in that students will be required to advise of their hobbies, interests and possible career path so that STAR courses can be linked to this information to gain the best possible outcome for the student and STAR funds. See Mrs O’Connor at the above mentioned times. SENIOR BASKETBALL: All those wanting to play for a senior basketball team there is a trial for the first and second teams on Thursday after school. Year 13 - ALL students who wish to be considered for an academic Tiger Jacket must see Mr Leath this week. Year 12 and 13 - All students who wish to be considered as a “Super 8 Scholar” must see Mr Leath this week. Year 12 and 13 - International Young Physicists Tournament team members meet Mr McLellan in Lab 3 after dean’s assembly today. Student Librarians 2014 We need 25 students to help with library work this year. Duties include; issuing & returning books; processing new stock; laminating; binding; helping with displays and reviews. Pick up an application form from the library now. Applications close this Friday 14th Feb. Library Open The library is now open for study and borrowing. Hours are 8.40am to 3.45 pm. Closed during Assemblies and Groups. Swimmers - if you swam in the prelims, the results are available for your perusal at the gym at interval / lunchtime. If you can find a mistake you get a Moro bar. Senior Volleyball - training after school in the gym For the boys who were away Friday need to come to Student Services to collect a Diary. STAGE CHALLENGE Stage hands are desperately required for rehearsals. If you can help and want lots of fun being part of a performance txt the hot line 02040311540.Soldiers are also required - any age. Kapa Haka auditions are on Sunday beginning at 12.30 ending at 4pm please be early to register. This is an incredible opportunity to be tutored in performance by one of NZs top Maori Kapa Haka choreographers Tanemahuta Gray. Be at NPGHS hall Sunday 16th Feb by 12.15pm. All enquiries txt the hot line. Extra stage challenge note: Boys who expressed interest in the kapa haka for stage challenge - Whatu Ngatai-Tangirua, Cody Awhitu, Jarvis Oke, Michael McLeod please note you’ll need to be at Girls’ High at 12:30pm this Sunday. Any other boys, who are keen, please see Miss T in the computer room at interval today to give me your names. The more the merrier!
