Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. Preaching in Cyprus 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant. PRAYER POINTS. 1. Pray that youll have the obedience, patience, humility and faith to wait on God continually through fasting, prayer, studying and meditating upon God and His word. The Bible said, as they ministered to the LORD and FASTED. Your fast is ministering to the Lord. 2. True fast releases the voice of the Holy Ghost.The bible reads that and the Holy Ghost said, separate unto me Paul and Barnabas for the work to which I have called them. We are praying to God that from now, our hearts will be very sharp, sensitive and focused to perceive the voice of the Holy Ghost as the church of Antioch. Sensitivity into spiritual things is always as a result of openness of heart in relation to spiritual life. 3. Presently, laying on of hands has become showmanship and gimmicks among some Christians. The bible said, then, they fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them and sent them away. We must not forget that it is one of the foundations we must build into our life of worship. Hebrews 6:2 talks about knowing much into laying on of hands as a principle or spiritual rule of engagement. Transfer of grace, spirit, wisdom, power, excellence, blessings and divine provision comes upon people who respect the hand of God through their man of God. We pray that any hands laid on us within this year will transfer divine impart and influence into our lives. 4. We praying and preparing ourselves for the use of God. If God can use anything consecrated, or any man, for that matter, then, He can use you too. As you fast and pray, ask God to use you for the work of ministry. May God put His word on your tongue so that you can preach Him in season and out of season. The bible says that after the experience, they went and preached the word. Pray that the word of God will be released on your tongue through the Spirit of God.
