DAY 9.....Got out under 14 hours tonight but the down side is we both brought home paper work or reports to finish. Report today is the fire should be fully contained in 10 days. Our job will be done when the last evacuee goes home and the threat of new evacuations is over or until they close us down and open a new shelter on the other side of the fire. I was able to hitch a ride with a Red Cross exec up to the fire command post and then on to one of the main fire camps. I WAS IMPRESSED. I actually got to an area that news crews are not allowed. I will be back in this area tomorrow with a film crew hired by Lions International to document what impact the LIONS have in the whole picture at this particular disaster. What it is we do for them and the evacuees in the shelter with the food we fix, deliver to the line, Deliver to the command post and take care of Red cross, Volunteers, and evacuees.
