DAY GOSPEL YEAR B - DAY 20/12 The biggest announcement - Luke 1: 26-38 Gospel (Lk 1.26 to 38) 26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph. He was a descendant of David and the name of the Virgin was Mary. 28 The angel came to her and said, Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you! 29 Mary was greatly troubled at these words and began to think what would be the meaning of greeting. 30 The angel then said to him: Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. 33 He shall reign forever on the descendants of Jacob, and his kingdom will have no end. 34 Mary said to the angel, How can this be, if I know not a man? 35 The angel answered, The Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. 36 Also, your relative Elizabeth, conceived a son in his old age. This is already the sixth month of what was considered sterile, 37 For with God nothing is impossible. 38 Then Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word! And the angel departed. - Word of Salvation. - Glory to you, Lord .. prayerful reading OPENING PRAYER In union with all who are in this virtual environment, started our prayerful reading of Advent, with Advent Song O come, Lord, no more delay! O come, how come the Deliverer From the enemy saves us Lord See the melody of this song next. 1- READING (TRUTH) - What does the Word say? I read with all the attention, in my Bible, the text of the Gospel: Lk 1.26 to 38. The place where this happens is indeed a small village in Galilee: Nazareth. The person to whom God sends his messenger is a young like other of his time: Maria. Is concerned and ask for explanations. So, know that what will happen is of the Holy Spirit and that the Child which is Mother is the Son of God. Knowing that God nothing is impossible with faith, makes his act of availability to Gods design, I am a servant of God; that happens to me what you just told me! I learn from Mary to seek to realize the signs of God, to dialogue with God, to listen, to discern the will of God and to say yes. 2- MEDITATION (PATH) - What the Word says to me? As I welcome the ads of God in my life? Many times the ad is for a change of life, other is the unexpected that makes me change my projects, sometimes a health problem, at work, in family. Respond with faith and availability? The Nazareth ad continues today in many ways and through many people. Bishops help us in this reflection: The Virgin of Nazareth had a unique mission in the history of salvation, conceiving, educating and watching his son to his ultimate sacrifice. From the cross Jesus Christ entrusted to his disciples, represented by John, the gift of Marys motherhood, which rises directly from the paschal time of Christ: And from that moment on, the disciple took her into his home (Jn 19:27 ). Persevering with the apostles awaiting the Spirit (Acts 1,13-14), she cooperated with the birth of the missionary Church, giving it a Marian seal that identifies deeply. As a mother of many, strengthen the fraternal bonds between all, encourages reconciliation and forgiveness and help the disciples of Jesus Christ to experience as a family, the family of God. In Mary, we find ourselves with Christ, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and with the brothers. (Dap 267). 3- PRAYER (LIFE) - What the Word leads me to say to God? Today I want to better understand the ads of God and faith and availabilityll give my answer. BLESSING The blessing of the God of Sarah, Abraham and Hagar, the blessing of the Son, born of Mary, the blessing of the Holy Spirit of love, that cherishes, which mother takes care of us, is about all of us.
