#DAY4 of P.T.T.W.9 #JAPAN, EAST ASIA Pray for Japan In mid-November, the news reported that Japan slipped into an economic recession. As a result, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe dissolved the parliament’s lower house and called for snap quick elections. Japan has the highest government debt in the world. Their financial crisis has been blamed for the sharp increase in suicide rates since the late 1990s. Japan has one of the highest suicide rates in the world with over 70 people killing themselves every day. One response has been to introduce inochi no monban (gatekeepers for life), people trained to spot suicidal tendencies. Pray that the God of Hope will meet with Japanese who are losing hope. Pray for an end to the acceptance of suicide in Japanese culture. Ask God to protect and preserve life (The Bible, Romans 15:13). #GUINEA-BISSAU, WEST AFRICA #Pray4GuineaBissau Guinea-Bissau struggles with a poor economy, high poverty rates, meager education resources, and drug trafficking. Pray that President Vaz’s leadership will bring long-lasting stability to Guinea-Bissau. Pray for the government to tackle the nation’s drug problem. Ask the LORD to teach the people of Guinea-Bissau the wisdom and economic principles of the Holy Scriptures (The Bible, Proverbs 22:2). reporter.win1040/?p=3836
