DAs approved at November Council meeting. Tracking DAs now easier than ever - At its November meeting, Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) determined two Development Applications (DA) pursuant to Section 80 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 by consent, subject to conditions as detailed in their Schedule 1 Conditions of Development Consent. DA 57/2014 is for the demolition of an existing pergola and erection of a new carport on a property in Hawker Street Quirindi. The application was referred to Council as several variations were sought to Section 3.1 of the Liverpool Plains Shire Council Development Control Plan 2012. Due to this variation adjoining landowners were notified. No submissions were received as a result of the notifications. DA 36/2014 is for the change of use of (continued operation of an existing business) and the installation of two 22,500 litre liquid fertiliser storage tanks on a property in Industrial Drive Quirindi. This application was referred to Council as it required a variation to the Liverpool Plains Shire Council Development Control Plan 2012, Section 3.6.2. Being within an Industrial Zone there was no requirement for notification or advertising of the proposal. “All such DAs are reported in the minutes of Council’s monthly meeting. The information is available on the LPSC website and can be perused at Council’s Administration Centre. There are strict mandatory requirements in dealing with these issues including a division when Council votes on the issue and the reporting of any political donations made to any Councillor or gifts made to any Councillor or Council employee by the applicant or any person making a relevant public submission,” said Ron Van Katwyk, LPSC Director Environmental Services. “Residents can check progress of the assessment of their application and investigate what types of developments are occurring in their neighbourhood through the ePlanning Portal located on the LPSC website: lpsc.nsw.gov.au, or the Department of Planning and Environment’s website: planning.nsw.gov.au. These recently introduced systems allow far easier access to information about DAs and their progress for all concerned,” Mr van Katwyk concluded.
