DBC Press release: Dartford Borough Council seeks views on development policies Dartford Borough Council is inviting residents and local businesses to have their say on policies for the Borough’s future development. The Council has launched a public consultation as it drafts a new Local Plan document that will be of key importance in its planning decisions. The Development Policies Plan covers issues that affect many different aspects of living and working in the Borough, for example the location and design of new homes and transport infrastructure to help get Dartford moving. It also invites local people to share particular knowledge that can help improve any proposals before they are finalised, such as protecting the Green Belt and local open spaces & shopping areas. Councillor Jeremy Kite, Leader of the Council, said, “As we deliver a balance of homes and jobs in the Borough, through major development and infrastructure improvements, it is important we have the right framework in place to insist on high quality planning applications and proper protection for existing communities. We want your views on the policies in this draft Plan, so that the future development of Dartford truly reflects the Borough’s needs.” Residents or businesses wishing to see the proposals or find out more should visit dartford.gov.uk/policyconsultation. Documents are also available at Dartford Civic Centre and libraries across the Borough.
