DBKL MEETING with the Mayor and Directors; we had a 10 minute slot yesterday morning to present the project, the 2 years of surveying and campaigning, making of the project, the findings & solutions to creating a cycling network for Kuala Lumpur. Everyone was very excited, standing up to have a closer look at the maps. Hence, the Mayor has given the go ahead to the DBKL teams pilot project overseen by Thomas Arul Richards to create Kuala Lumpur Citys first Cycling infrastructure!! Citing that it is for the betterment of our city. Another project objective successful!! Congratulations to Mr. Richards and his team for pushing this forward. The Mayor will probably be announcing this come Car-free morning this Sunday, and will be doing a Cycling Survey with the media at a later date of the proposed route! more to come! thanks to Sumei Toh & Mohd Farid Rahmat for attending the meeting too and representing! it didnt hit me then, but yes, this probably marks the end of the Bicycle Map Project Campaign for KL and the birth to new objectives. Still a long road ahead for a Cycling Network in KL, but atleast now we have so many more voices! Cycle on KL and congratulations everyone!
