DC Cooke Surgery update: First things first, hes out of surgery and the surgeon said it went well. The surgery ended up being quite invasive as the state of his digestive system was substantially worse than they had expected. He got a vertical incision from just above his belly button down to his pubic bone. His large intestine was in such a severe state, his specialist said he cant understand how DC was able to function at all. (Good news, its gone.;) ) Where the large and small intestine connect was obstructed, abscessed and so inflamed it was close to eruption. (Now gone too ;) ) There were some adhesions in his small intestines (scar tissue growth that cause abscessed areas of the intestines to join), which the surgeon was able to clean up, along with some blockages that were removed. Long story short: Things are looking a lot better inside his tummy. The surgeon was able to attach a nice healthy end of the small intestine to the rectum. (Yay!) Next step: We see if his body accepts the reconnect -- which it will. (Prayers - healing energy - and love, all gratefully being received towards this achievement) Thank you, to each and every one of you. It means so much knowing we are not alone in this...
