DCF team to look at child’s care Two-year-old boy’s killing by family dogs leads to special investigation By Buster Thompson Circumstances surrounding the parental care of deceased 2-year-old Christopher Camejo and two other children under the care of their parents will be under review by a team of child protection experts. This team — the Critical Incident Rapid Response Team — is headed by the state Department of Children and Families (DCF) and responds to instances of questionable child welfare or child-related tragedies on a case-by-case basis to investigate parental care, according to DCF spokeswoman Kristi Gray. The team was called as a result of DCF involvement in the still-open case of the death of Christopher Camejo, the 2-year-old found dead Saturday, Dec.6, in the backyard of his 60-year-old grandfather’s home near Crystal River after reportedly being attacked by his grandfather’s dogs.
