DCFEMS units responded to an early morning house fire in the 11000 block of Quaker Road. At approx. 1:15 am the Dinwiddie ECC toned out units from the Dinwiddie, Namozine, Ford and Carson stations. The fire was confined to a single bedroom of the home. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters. The occupants are being assisted by family and the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire was determined to be an overloaded extension cord that was running a space heater. Space heaters should be plugged directly into outlets and using extension cords should be avoided. Responding units were Engines 1,4,2 & 6, Tankers 1,4,2 & 6, Truck 4, Squad 6, Support 1, 4, & 2, Medic 12 and U-100.
