DEAR PLANET EARTH - 25 years ago tomorrow Poland held a presidential election and for the first time since WWII a non communist President was elected to office in Central and Eastern Europe. (I have the time to write this a I am waiting for a few calls...)... what followed was the fall of the Berlin Wall in Germany and two years later the commie mob was kicked out of Russia and went to other places. Tomorrow the French the Germans, and the American President, will be here to commemorate the historic occasion which cannot be even qualified in its importance to the planet. Did this BBC article skip all of that or am I not seeing things ? They will also institute the Lech Walensa Prize and the first one, in what will be its long history will be handed tomorrow to the first winner. .......... apparently, a per this article by the BBC , which I attached , the American President will be traveling to other places as well ... Here in Warsaw, after the festivities, which are the point of the visit, (and you should see the city! - decked out! ) they will be meeting with the new Ukrainian President who is not the tall handsome athlete with a Ph.D., like they all here in Europe thought it would be, but another short stubby guy with a designer clad hot wife, with bouffant hair and billion in cash and the works (skokie and Des Plaines IL are rejoicing - I wonder if Lagarde gave them the first of the two $17 bil in cash yet ???) , and they will be discussing being peaceful with the people who are laying flowers at the feet of Lenin statues and saying the want to join Russia. Those people need to be told that the life they miss and the people who gave that life to them decades ago are in Brooklyn, Ny , skokie and Des Plaines IL and if they have a hot daughters they should send them to the Viagra Triangle in Chicago not Moscow ... When I read this BBC version of the news I think the BBC should have its journalism license pulled and the Chairman should be stripped of his noble title if he chooses not to be noble ever so consistently ... the editor should definitely be fired ... or is it sour grapes, Brits ?????? - loosing our relevance ????????? ... Obama set for Poland security talks ????????????????????? what ????????? the heads of state are coming, I must have heard twenty choppers over head in the last half hour ... bbc/news/world-europe-27671691
