DEBATE ON TV 100, Himalaya(Uttarakhand) ON 10th December from 6.30 PM to 7.30 PM Friends, The Central government has for the first time formally accepted that the HYDRO POWER PROJECTS in Uttarakhand have directly or indirectly lead to aggravation of deluge ( Floods) in the state, particularly in the year 2013 that lead to massive devastating floods in the Kedar Valley, killing and making thousands of people and their families homeless. It unambiguously admitted that these projects caused devastating damages of irreversible nature to the environment and enhanced landslides and other types of natural disasters in Uttrakhand hills. The MOEF filed an affidavit on Monday in the Apex Court admitting these factors as the main causes for the ecological disaster of June 2013, in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. The UK CM Harish Rawat had however opposed this admission of the center and termed this step as anti development of Uttrakhand. A debate has been organised in TV 100 today from 6.30 PM to 7.30 PM to discuss threadbare on this pivotal issue. Joining in the debate with me will be Hem Pant, Social Activist and other important personalities from Uttarakhand. In case interested you can tune in TV 100 at 6.30 PM Sharp in the evening and see for yourselves what we have on this significant issue. Thanks, Sunil Negi,President, Uttarakhand Journalists Forum
