DEC 2014 - With the WISCONSIN GOP again attempting to limit food access for people on SNAP (food assistance/food stamps) ... the elderly, the disabled, the chronically ill, single parents, the poor, veterans, etc ... it is Essential that the public understand the actual consequences for these people should the GOP be successful in eliminating whatever they choose to deem junk food from SNAP allowable food purchases. It should also be noted that the special dietary foods needed to accommodate such diseases as celiac and gluten intolerance carry the GOPs junk food distinction, as do organic foods, cost-saving bulk foods, and whole foods (ie: brown eggs, whole milk, cheddar/swiss/sharp cheese all carry the junk food designation - a dozen white eggs, skim milk, Velveeta do not).
