DEC Commissioner Joe Martens and Acting NYSDOH - New York State Health Department Commissioner Howard Zucker today rejected the prospect of high-volume hydraulic fracturing in New York. on.ny.gov/1wM7RRJ DOH Commissioner Zucker said today significant questions and risks to public health remain unanswered, and therefore it would be “reckless” for NY to proceed until further research is done. Commissioner Martens said “Considering the research, public comments, relevant studies, Dr. Zucker’s report and the enormous record DEC has amassed on this issue, I have directed my staff to complete the final SGEIS.
