DECEMBER 2014 HIKING SCHEDULE December 6 Tony’s Falls Easy 3 hours for 1.3 miles From Asan overlook we hike down to Tony’s waterfall. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Swordgrass and steep slopes. December 6 Moonie Stomp: Atillong Acho Difficult 4 hours for 2.2 miles We hike over black rock to the coastline and then back trail. Bring: Headlamp, 3 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, insect repellent, dinner, camera. Special conditions: Steep slopes. Meet at the Chamorro Village at 5pm. December 13 ON BASE STOMP: Spanish Steps (alternative: Haputo) Easy 3hrs for 1mi We descend the old steps to snorkel in a unique channel. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, snorkel gear, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: ****Advance registration required before December 3 (Name, date of birth, social security number, vehicle license plate) *** December 20 Fintasa and Laolao Falls Difficult 5 hours for 1.6 miles We journey to 2 cooling waterfalls in southeastern Guam. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, swimsuit, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Some walking in water and climbing with a rope. December 27 Priest’s Pools Easy 4 hours for 1.5 miles We hike to the Merizo Massacre Site of World War II and then cool off in the freshwater pools of the Pigua River. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swim suit, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special condition: mud.
