DECIDE NOT TO GIVE THE ENEMY ROOM ANYMORE When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down. Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him] (Ephesians 4:26-27 AMP). On Saturday morning, I went for a womans breakfast meeting and the speaker was sharing a story of how she had been praying with a married woman who had been looking for the fruit of the womb for the past 12 years. After praying and praying with no results, she had to call the woman to one side to have a heart to heart talk with her. The kind of talk that gently says... Whats really going on? I have been praying and praying but nothing is happening. It was only after much digging and digging that they realised that every time this woman was ovulating was when there was always quarrelling and fighting at home and as for you married women; you know how many of you are when you are mad at your hubby. You face your side while I face my side. Theres nothing at this end for you tonight. This was what this lady kept on doing. However, immediately her ovulation period was over, everything was hunky dory again. Hmmm... It kept on happening in the same manner for this lady for 12 good years. Can you imagine? I found that hard to digest but I cant imagine why a woman of God would stand on the pulpit and lie about a thing like that. So, in such a case, who is the woman to blame? We tend to blame the devil for almost everything but I hear people tell a joke of how on judgement day, the devil would ask many people what colour of outfit he was wearing the day he did what you were accusing him of. Yes, the devil is always behind a lot of evil but our Bible text warns us to... LEAVE NO [SUCH] ROOM OR FOOTHOLD FOR THE DEVIL [GIVE NO OPPORTUNITY TO HIM] through anger. However, please note that this isnt restricted to anger. I’ve previously shared how the Lord brought to my attention the patterns in my life that had consistently opened the door to the enemies work against me which of course included ANGER AND BITTERNESS and playing the victim; that is having the victim’s mentality. We tend to have all these attitudes that give the devil a foothold to mess with our lives but it’s time to say no more. We need to start to look within to see if we have any such open doors for indeed... you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free (John 8:32 AMP).
