DECISION MAKING IS ALWAYS TOUGH*** The Story of Pearl Pearl has worked in your school as an educator for the past 15years. She is well known by other educators and the community. She will be 55 years old this year and knows that retirement is fast approaching. Naledi an educator at the same school is a close friend and knows exately how she feels. Naledi thinks its a good idea to have a party for her friend and invites all the educators whom she is sure will contribute. Naledi asks a Principal of the school in a predominantly white suburb whether they can hire the Hall on the 3rd Thursday of next month from 14h30 for the party at 15h30. The principal agrees and puts up a notice for the staff to be informed. At about 14h30; Naledi and six colleagues arrives to prepare the tables and lay out the food; which they carry into the Hall. Johan; Bob; Jim and others had just completed their weekly boy scouts meeting (But had booked the Hall until 15h00). Johan takes them out to the foyer to talk and objects strongly to their presence:You should never have been allowed to use the Hall; New South Africa or Not Jim believes that Johan is being unreasonable and that the woman need time to prepare the Hall; but he says nothing. A heated discussion ensues in which several users get involved. Naledi goes to the Principal to explain what is happening. He says, I think i have made a mistake; maybe you shouldnt be allowed to use the Hall. Obviously people feel very strongly about this While Naledi is with the Principal; Bob goes to the Hall; hides the food he likes and throws the rest around the Hall. When Naledi comes back and reports what the Principal had said and sees what has happened to the food. Lebo is so angry that she rushes into the Hall; picks ashtray and throws it through the window.
