Demand from Chevron-Texaco a responsible and effective answer to the unlimited damage caused, both to the environment and to the population, as well as demand the transnational’s obligation to assume the cost of the drainage and environmental restoration of the impaired ecosystems, compensation for the damage caused to the national and local economy, answering for the crimes caused to human health, sources of drinkable water, among other substantial resources and values such as the destruction of communities. 4. Denounce the maneuvers of Chevron-Texaco to mislead, confuse the international public opinion, accuse the government and inhabitants of Ecuador to be responsible for that damage, as well as to alert on the need to clarify the truth in the face of the media campaign organized by the transnational in different ways, making use of the arrogance and hegemony of the great mass media controlled by the power elites to evade a historical sentence that acknowledges the right of the affected communities in the Amazonia to receive compensation for the damage caused. 5. Highlight the crucial importance for international justice that the arbitration courts act impartially and according to International Law in their competence, as well as pass their judgments based on the sentences already pronounced by the courts of Ecuador. 6. Join voices and support the actions of the numerous international organizations and entities that call upon the international solidarity with the people and government of Ecuador. 7. Coordinate and carry out actions to denounce the impunity of the Chevron-Texaco transnational in the Ecuadorian Amazonia, open spaces and communication channels to disseminate the truth, and support the adoption of initiatives in the sphere of the United Nations, committing themselves to carry out the necessary actions to circulate the present Declaration as official document of the 68th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the United Nations General Assembly. 8.
