DECLARATION OF THE CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF EASTERN CAPE BOXING STAKEHOLDERS We the attendees of the Eastern Cape Consultative Meeting held at the Mdantsane Indoor Sports Centre on the 20th SEPTEMBERE 2014; declare that: 1. The office for administration and operations in Mdantsane should be reopened and be operational by the end of September 2014. 2. That the Eastern Cape Boxing Fraternity will facilitate for the establishment of the Provincial Boxing Commission to be based in East London. An Inter-Association task team will be set up to facilitate the establishment of the Provincial Commission as per the National Indaba Resolutions.l 3. The provisions of the principal Act in relation to tournament application, sanctioning and purse payments should have precedence over the underlying regulations. Regulations section 11 will not be used as it is in contradiction with the principal Act. 4. A delegation from the Eastern Cape Boxing Fraternity will meet with the SABC to facilitate the return of broadcasting of Boxing on television. 5. The petition will be sought from ALL stakeholders in the Eastern Cape and will be sent to the Sport Portfolio Committee and the Presidency. 6. There will be no tournament cancelled or postponed on the basis of purse monies not being paid before the official weigh in. The decisions of the previous boxing conventions in relation to purse payment will apply. 7. The current BSA Board must resign with immediate effect; failure to resign by the 30th September 2014, we will embark on a battery of activities to ensure that the Board resigns. 8. Failure to resign voluntarily, will investigate the possibilities of legally dissolving the current Board as it has not shown any interest in the promotion and development of Boxing in the country. 9. We hereby declare that the current Board has shown outmost incompetence in the running of affairs of boxing in this country. 10. Officials’ stipend will be increased on the basis of the size of the tournament. 11. BSA to provide officials’ uniforms on the basis of fees they are paying to BSA. 12. The so-called newly nominated ratings committee is rejected with contempt in its entirety.
