DEFINITION FOR GRANDPA... (Composition written by a 8 y.o. girl, published on Cartaxo Journal, Florianópolis city, Santa Catarina state - in BRAZIL) A grandpa is a man who doesn´t have children, this is why he likes someone else´s kids so much. Grandpas don´t have anything to do, apart from hanging around. When they take us for a walk, they walk slowly and never step on the beautiful flowers nor on the worms. They never shout: Get out of here! Go to bed! Not now! Go to your room! Usually they are fat, but they always manage to tie our shoe laces. They always know what we want. They know better than anyone else the food we want to eat. Grandpas don´t need to go to the hairdresser, because they´re bald or have their hair always neat. When they tell us stories, they never skip any part and they don´t mind telling us the same story over and over. They are the only grown people that always have time for us. They are not so weak as many people think, although they die more often than we do. Everyone should make a big effort to have a grandpa, mainly those who don´t have a TV. - Ana Paula
