DELHI DIALOGUE: 69% is the gross drop out rate in Delhi schools. 15 lakh children have never gone to school or dropped out. Education is the only way we can uplift poorer section of the society. In every public meeting, poor people ask for excellent school education so that their children have a chance to build better life for themselves. Education should not be a matter of chance (of being born in a family that can afford private school). Delhi govt. runs over 2500 schools, and huge funds are allocated. However, there is rampant corruption in all areas including basic school facilities, mid-day meals and availability of teachers. Private school owners are affiliated with politicians, and there is nexus to keep quality of govt. schools low. Many teachers are given very low salaries and kept on contract. We need to invest in our teachers, and children. In developed countries, govt. schools are of very high quality, and comparable to many private schools. There are many experts who are willing to make this happen. We just need honest effort, and good intentions. This video explains vision for fixing education system in Delhi. Please watch and provide your feedback/suggestions.
