Early Yesterday morning, APC members in the National House of Representatives were prevented from entering the National Assembly complex in Abuja. They were stopped by SSS and Police officials from entering the complex after receiving order from President Goodluck Jonathan. Over 1000 Soldiers, Policemen and State Security Services (SSS) personnel were deployed to seal the entrance of the National Assembly complex. House Speaker, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal was prevented from entering the building. While he was trying to manoeuvre his way, he was sent back by policemen who allegedly teargassed him. Over 10 APC members had to scale the gates to enter the National Assembly to join their PDP colleagues who were freely allowed into the complex. In APC Press Release Statement, The Party Publicly Secretary, Mr Lai Mohammed, APC Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other APC Bigwig, Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and others condemned President Jonathan action for sending Police and SSS to stop and teargassed Number 4 citizen of the country and Speaker House of Rep, Hon Aminu Tambuwal and APC House members, calling it unconstitutional, barbaric, obnoxious and irresponsible act, saying President Jonathan has declared war and He must see that war, APC saying its total war and the battle line is drawn btw APC and President Jonathan Led PDP. In his own reaction, the Senate President, Senator David Mark has condemn the action of the Presidency for ordering the Police and SSS to stop and teargassed the Speaker of the House, Hon Aminu Tambuwal, saying it is wrong and unconstitutional, calling the action of Police and SSS on APC House of rep members as absurd and malicious. The Senate President, Senator David Mark order the closure and shut down of National Assembly till next week Tuesday. It is getting clearer that this country is under the era of dictatorship. When has it become a duty for Presidency to always send police to threaten his political opponents. Why is it that APC Lawmakers were the only ones prevented from entering the National Assembly. This is a sad day for our Nation yesterday. The leadership continues to court anarchy by its actions, and inaction. It is very unfortunate that the Federal Government has resulted to using force to prevent freedom of movement and expression in this country. Its sad what we are seeing in this country everyday.
