DEMOCRACY WINS….LIFE SKILLS TOO! In the recently held School Parliamentary Election for Head Boy and Head Girl at Ameerpet, many a dramatic moments passed on as the counting was in progress. Classes 5, 6, 7 votes were decisive as it derailed the hopes of the leading contestants in the early phase of counting. The result was ENOCH SOMANA won the battle as Head Boy and VAISHNAVI won the Head Girl portfolio. (They are still nominees as the approval of the Director is pending). In the same way Other Cabinet Members selection was also done in a free and fair manner. After the announcement of the Results, as usual some shed tears and some others were doubtful of the procedure. Natural feelings associated with failure! (if they consider so). But once the Life Skills Executives explained them what exactly a leader is expected to be, Smiles illumined their faces. They came to the executives and said ,‘sorry!’ we should not have reacted that way. After all SLATE taught us “SUCCESS AND FAILURES MUST BE TAKEN IN THE SAME STRIDE”. This is the effect of Life Skills when the students internalize them. 36 Virtues are not just to be taught in the classes but to be internalized. I wished if these Life Skills lessons are extended to a few parents who always whine about trivialities, much of the pandemonium could be cleared ,thereby CLARITY descends in them. Some of the Slaters are the Harbingers of this change in their homes too. PROUD OF YOU SLATERS….! Remember Slaters “STRENGTH IS HONOURED; AND KNOWLEDGE IS STRENGTH”. No one remembers the weak and fearful….! Once a sacrificial lamb went to Brahma deva and asked “Oh God, why do people choose me for sacrifice. They don’t prefer horse, elephant, tiger or lion. Why it is so? (Aswam naiva, Gajam naiva, Vyaghram naivacha naivacha…..)Then Brahma replied, ‘people always prefer tender and fearful creature for sacrifice. They don’t dare to touch the Strong and ferocious. That is the nature. Hence go away. So, Remember, It is always weak people are blamed or sacrificed but not the Strong one. Accept the challenges in life positively and turn them as opportunities. Every Success story has a story of failure too.BE STRONG PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY...! That is the goal of Education. “TEARS CAN’T ACHIEVE WHAT YOUR SWEAT CAN!” ALL THE BEST!
