DEMOLITION OF BUCKLEMAKER AND BUTTERBURN COURTS UP-DATES All residents within the exclusion zone are currently being evacuated as planned. Wind direction today means that when the tower blocks come down the dust cloud will likely move northwards over the city. Safedem have also advised us that the weather conditions will make the sound of the explosions appear significantly louder. We have received a number of enquiries relating to the time that the demolition will take place. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to give an exact time. This is due to the fact that we must make absolutely sure that all safety precautions have been fulfilled, and all residents have been successfully evacuated from the area. The estimated time we have for the demolition is about 12pm but any delays in the evacuation process and safety checks will have a knock on effect to the demolition time. We thank you all for your patience whilst this is done. There will be warning sirens prior to the demolition taking place so spectators will be aware in advance when blowdown is about to commence.
