DEO flags off Election Express under SVEEP REASI, November22: District Election Officer Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt flagged an Election Express Van from mini secretariat Reasi, as an initiative of district administration to create awareness among the voters. The Election Express will move to all the Panchayats till December 02 the date of polling for three assembly constituencies of Reasi district. The van has an Electronic Voting Machine, pledge letters, signature campaign boards, and loud speaker for announcement. It will move across villages in Assembly Segments of Reasi, Gool-Arnas and Gulabgarh. The van is aimed at spreading message of electoral participation across the district. Speaking on the occasion DEO said that these are exemplary efforts to strengthen the democracy. He further added that the district administration is hosting a series of electoral awareness programmes since last few months so as to aware voters and to educate the voters not to indulge themselves in allurements or influence of any kind and to exercise their right to vote as free and fearlessly. Nodal Officer SVEEP-Dr Jagdish Mehra informed that the special Election Express has been launched for instilling more energy in the ongoing SVEEP campaign to elicit greater electoral participation in the forthcoming elections. Main aims are to impart EVM education, create awareness about ethical and informed voting and assist the voters to exercise their right. Deputy District Election Officer-Joginder Singh Rai, RO 57-Gulabgarh Ashwani Kumar Khajuria, RO 58-Reasi Tilak Raj Sharma, ARTO Rajesh Gupta, CDPO-Pritam Thappa and other officers accompanied the DEO during flagging-off ceremony.
