Buhari is a Destabilising Agent and a Fanatic - Bola Tinubu If you are wondering why Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his Action Congress of Nigeria could not enter an alliance with General Muhammadu Buhari to dislodge PDP from power in the 2011 presidential elections, stop wondering. In 2003, Mr. Tinubu described Gen. Buhari as an agent of distabilisation and is far worse than Obasanjo. In a US diplomatic cable of 2003-02-21 published by WikiLeaks, then Lagos State Governor Tinubu explaining why the Alliance for Democracy decided to support former President Obasanjo in the 2003 presidential contest disclosed to a US Embassy official that he does not like President Obasanjo because he contributed to benefiting from that history, yet Tinubu admitted that he and his party, the Alliance for Democracy, must support Obasanjo because Obasanjo is the only candidate who stands a chance of blocking his rival, General Muhammadu Buhari, whose ethnocentrism would jeopardize Nigerias national unity. Tinubu also implied that the AD will work to elect Obasanjo to stop the spread of Sharia. Tinubu said Buhari and his ilk are agents of destabilization who would be far worse than Obasanjo. Moreover, Southwest Nigeria is Yorubaland and the President is Yoruba. Tinubus party then had no choice since it has not fielded a presidential candidate.
