Introduction to entrepreneurship • Entrepreneurship as a (design) process • Opportunities, creativity and concept development • Feasibility analysis (ENT311 students) • Preparing the pitch • Market testing and early measurement • Marketing plans • Business models • Financial projections (ENT311 students) • The importance of intellectual property • New venture team and management and company structure • Assessing a new venture’s financial strength and attracting funding (ENT311 students) • Preparing the business plan (ENT311 students) • New venture Evaluation What is this course (project) about? In this course you will develop, re-design, collaborate and start to work on a venture idea with your peers and obtain mentoring as a group from an experienced entrepreneur. You will be inspired by the success stories and experiences of other entrepreneurs, identify an opportunity and develop a business concept, validating it with market feedback to create a venture start-up. We will focus on entrepreneurial activities in the process such as idea and concept development, a Startup Weekend experience and your reflections from that, as well as a business plan (or final report) charting the way forward.
