DESPERATE , JOBLESS ZIMBABWEANS RESORT TO IMPORTING AND SELLING EMPTY BOTTLES AND AIRTIME FOR SURVIVAL Zimbabwe is facing an unprecedented level of unemployed people, with many graduates now selling mobile phone airtime for a living at city street corners, all thanks to Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF regimes monopoly over wealth and power. Cash strapped Zimbabweans have become more enterprising with many now importing empty beer and beverages bottles from Zambia for resale at Delta , a local beverage company. Traders collect empty bottles from both urban and rural areas in Lusaka Zambia, where they have managed to set up empty bottles, collection centres and then arrange with returning truck drivers from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Zambia for empty bottles transport at negligible costs Once in Zimbabwe, empty bottles are delivered to Southerton in Harare, where traders buy empty crates from Delta Beverages for packing and then resell the empties. Mugabe has managed to enrich a caucus of Zanu PF stalwarts, his ZIM 1 family, and securocrats, while at the same time impoverishing the nation and forcing graduates and those who have not been forcibly exiled, into destitution.
