DETAILS: July 12th from 6:30AM to 1:00PM - Champaign Area Locations to volunteer in Urbana, IL include: 1) Urbanas Market at the Square (farmers market) at Lincoln Square Mall (tent/booth at entrance of Market) urbanaillinois.us/market 2) Common Ground Food Coop (table/booth on patio) commonground.coop/ OneBody-Champaign is sponsoring a Community Food and Fund Drive. We are teamed up with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank, the Urbanas Market at the Square, Common Ground Food Coop, and Memphis On Main. ALL monetary and product donations will be given to the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Mission: To aid in the Farm-to-Foodbank Program already established by the Farmers Market & EIF in efforts to collect monetary or product donations from Market vendors, Market & Food Coop consumers, and good samaritans. Volunteer Duties: 1) Sign-up for a time-slot (or two) by contacting Tiffany Meyer via email or Facebook (Tiff Meyer or Champaign-Area Service Day - July 12th). 2) We are launching the Farm-to-Foodbank program (that currently exists) for this season! Fun!! 3) Prepare for rain or shine....and the heat. Bring water bottles and anything else youd like to have with you (that makes sense). I recommend buying snacks or a meal at the Market or Coop. 4) Wear a OneBody Shirt. If you dont have a OneBody Shirt, wear a shirt that makes sense for our event or wear something plain. 5) Stand post at either the Market or the Coop and offer big inviting smiles to people to attract them to your tent/booth. Please do not leave your booth unattended. No soliciting outside of the booth & no outwardly soliciting to people to come to our booth...so just be modest in your expression, but super awesome that they cant resist visiting. 6) Create Awareness: Talk to people with lots of passion! Help them understand the impact of giving back. Help them understand how important it is to give farm-fresh produce and meats to a family who could never afford it. 7) Share your experience and passion in health eating/wellness/nutrition/farming/etc and relate it to your volunteership. DO NOT outwardly prospect for your USANA Business (or any other business). If it gets brought up in casual conversation because people are curious about OneBody (etc.), then that is totally fine....its just not the place for business conversation, you know? 8) Politely encourage consumers to participate in the Buy 2 Donate 1 Program. For example, Buy 2 apples, Donate 1 to EIF. We have boxes to collect donated goods. 9) Politely encourage consumers to donate money for EIF. We will have a monetary donation box as well. 10) At the end, we will collect any donations from the vendors (on goods that they didnt sell). Then we will collect all of the boxes of goods and load up the EIF truck. They will haul it away for us. I will collect any monetary donations safely to deliver to EIF on Monday. Every $1 donated to the EIF will help provide $10 worth of food. Volunteer Time-Slots: **Volunteers may contact me by email ([email protected]) or Facebook to sign-up for a time-slot. **Volunteers may choose both time slots. If you are available, please go ahead and sign up for both time-slots (in order of timing preference). We may need you for both, unless we have enough volunteers to help. Its hard to get people to volunteer on a July Summer Saturday! So, thank you for taking your time to help out! 6:30AM - 9:30AM - 5 volunteers needed (3 at Market, 2 at Coop) 9:30AM - end (about 12:30-1:00ish) - 5 volunteers needed (3 at Market, 2 at Coop) FYI #1 - Also at the Farmers Market on July 12th is Art at the Market & a Jazz Quartet!! Fun!! urbanaillinois.us/residents/market-square/art-market FYI #2 - Memphis On Main (bar/entertainment establishment) is participating by allowing us to put a monetary donation box at the location from now until July 12th. memphisonmain/
