DEVELOPRENEUR: THE NEED FOR IDEOLOGICAL WAR AND NOT POLITICAL WARS? ...A contribution to ongoing debate on performance of Governor Amosun in Ogun State. I think we should get involved in a war of ideas rather than a personality, political or positional wars: I agree that it is wrong to embark on massive road construction at the expense of education and direct human development:I however disagree with Government continuously employing people without a commensurate increase in productivity and the source of income: This is not only retrogressive but not sustainable: Employing people without corresponding productivity is tantamount to killing the economy; The civil service today is fast becoming a burden of governance and there is no valid economic justification for enlargement of the work force? The business of Government is to create an enable atmosphere for entrepreneurship to thrive leading to improvement in the volume and value of goods and services available to the community: There is also a power connection between infrastructural development and entrepreneurship: The human development index is an expression of the per capita income which is a function of the productive capacity of the economy: Also,i live in Ogun state for the last 15years: Are we really saying we prefer a governmental holiday of The Daniel Years to The Infrastructural Development Era of Amosun! I am not holding brief for Amosun, but i think we should be concerned about the cost of the projects not the conceptualisation and implementation of the projects for physical infrastructure also enhances National Economic Productivity and Efficiency: I dont think infrastructural development is a misplaced priority but it is like clapping with one hand.. For a real sustainable change in the living conditions of people:Massive Infrastructural Development should be married with Huge Human Capital Development... I am a voter in Ogun state and i belong to no political party;however,no one is going to convince me to vote against Amosun by attacking him or his policies except fellow politicians, polithievians and politrickians as the case may be; However,i am a rational consumer,if you are able to convince me that you can manage Ogun state resources better than Amosun;fine, you will have my vote: I think this is a missing link in our current democracy and political culture responsibe for the disgraceful decamping and jumpology all over the place: I think we should learn how to replace a good idea with a better idea and a better idea with a best idea: It is economic and political retrogression to replace a good idea with a bad idea..tragically,this has been our experience since independence in Nigeria,or how do we explain Ekiti people replacing Fayemi with Fayose..... APC is very quick to criticise all GEJ policies:however,up till now, they have not come out to tell us what they are going to do differently: Apart from GMB..there is no significant difference between PDP and APC.. If Buhari leaves APC today...PDP = APC.. The two parties love power and merely use people to gain power..the time has come for power to return back to the people and our Governors and President and political office holders should be stripped of their emperorship. ..afterall,we are not their subjects.. We should hold Amosun accountable to the electorate, project implementation must follow due process..if anyone has an issue with his policies, give us your own alternative..then lets compare, contrast and decide as the electorate. I think this is fair enough!
