DFA STATEMENT ON THE PROCLAMATION OF KING FELIPE VI OF SPAIN 19 June 2014 The Philippine Government and people wish to express their warmest greetings to His Majesty King Felipe VI on his accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Spain. This welcome news comes to us as the Philippines prepares for its celebration of Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day on the 30th of June. As we extol the longstanding friendship and historical ties that unite our nations, the Filipino people assure His Majesty of our continued friendship and support for the people of Spain.
