DG ECHO and INSPIRE carry out the first Gender and Age marker training in South Asia in Dhaka, Bangladesh. During the 29th and 30th September 2014, INSPIRE and DG ECHO trained 35 participants from 24 organizations such as German Red Cross, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, IFRC, UNHCR, IOM, WFP FAO, The Food Security Cluster, Oxfam, Christian Aid, Muslim Aid, TdH Italy, TdH CH, Save the Children, Caritas, Solidarities International, Danish Church Aid, Help Age, Action Aid, BBC Media Action, Concern Universal, CORDAID, Concern Worldwide, IPPF and Plan International. ECHO and its partners learned how to apply the new Gender- Age marker in the eSingle form. The European Commission’s humanitarian Gender-Age Marker is a tool that assesses to what extent each humanitarian action integrates gender and age considerations. The four criteria are as follows 1) Gender and Age Analysis/SADD; 2) Adapted Assistance; 3) Negative Effects and 4) Adequate Participation.
