DHAKA : Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Thursday said collaborators of Jamaat, Hefajat and their ally BNP, who are desperately trying to stop war criminals’ trial, might have tried to attack him during his recent visit to London, reports BSS. Speaking at a press briefing at Shahjalal International Airport here on his return from a week-long visit to the United Kingdom, he accused the collaborators of war criminals, communal and militant groups and their associate BNP for the attempted attack on him. Terming the attack a political one, Inu said such a planned attack can’t stop his voice, saying government efforts would continue to defeat the militants’ cliques. Soon after the incident, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, a team of London Metropolitan Police, 14-party alliance leaders including those of Awami League and JSD reached the spot. The information minister said the London police got the identity of the attackers and their political affiliation would be known very soon. Inu praised London police for their quick action. About the National Broadcasting Policy 2013, Inu said a draft of it has already been made and put on website for taking opinion of people of all walks of life and expressed the hope that the broadcasting policy would be formulated within a month. A large number of leaders and activities of JSD demonstrated at the airport demanding the arrest of the attackers on the minister. Later, they received the information minister and greeted him with flowers.
