DICTATOR IN THE MAKING: What is the leaderships excuse for wanting a term extension? According to him the Supreme Court has become too powerful that it tilts the balance of power and of checks and balances. Totally a bullshit and lame excuse! Past presidents never complained of their working relationship with the SC. And even if these past presidents encountered unfavorable decisions from the SC, they respected it and moved on. These past presidents never betrayed and threatened a co-equal branch of government with impeachment nor disrespected and never considered amending the constitution to prolong his/her stay in power (except for FVR but never prevailed) to spite a co-equal branch of government. And to think this leadership has his share of appointing SC justices and even the sitting Chief Justice after spearheading the impeachment of Renato Corona. Pity and pathetic to think that this leadership is the son of a revered woman under whose leadership crafted a new constitution to finally rid of power-hungry and despotic leaders and a martyred father who fought a dictatorial leader. I dare say let Democracy prevail and continue with the 1987 Constitution! Let not the uncertain future be used as a Bogeyman to scare the nation of the next leadership and be likewise used as a propaganda tool in amending the constitution. The next future leader is not a problem of the incumbent leader, it is the problem of the entire nation. The most dangerous thing to do now is to let this leadership have his way and amend the present constitution for a term extension for it has been proven that this leadership has no respect to any co-equal branch of government; no respect for the constitution that he has sworn to uphold and protect; no respect for the Filipino people to include the Yellow people he has sworn to serve; no respect for his parents who gave their very lives in fighting a power hungry dictator. No leadership can be a Messiah. No leadership is indispensable. This leadership may yet prove to be a Trojan horse of the worst kind.
