DID JESUS ABOLISH THE LAW? Matt5:17 “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. Some believers do not understand the difference between the dispensation of the law and the life of grace that Jesus brought. Many baby Christians believe that we all must fulfil the law because Jesus himself said he hasnt come to abolish the law but to fulfil it quoting the scripture above. Now, we all know Jesus had a serious argument with the Pharisees about the law and we werent told that he killed rams neither were we told that he observed all the rituals and ceremonies of the law, so how and where did he fulfil the law? Rom 10:4 made it clear that the purpose of the law has been fulfilled in Christ and so he is the end of the law. Glory! The law demanded justice for all our failures and the penalty is death, on the cross, Christ paid the price of the law because you cannot fulfil the law and do not need to bother yourself about following Moses because the more you try fulfilling the law, youll always fall under condemnation and guilt. In this new order, Christ is our leader and we follow him because he fulfilled the law. Praise God!
