DID SZA WRITE FEELING MYSELF FOR NICKI MINAJ AND BEYONCE??!! So I came across an article about a chick named SZA who supposedly was a Co contributor to Feeling Myself the Nicki Minaj and Beyonce banger on Nickis Pink Print album. So aside from having a straight Scooby-Doo moment I wanted to know who the chick was. This is the part of journalism that a lot of people dont like: research. But, I love it actually. Its like solving a puzzle. Im going to figure it out. So I had two objectives; find out who SZA is and what shes about and then find out the REAL deal behind the penning of Feeling Myself . So I found out about the chick first, SZA hails from St. Louis and is signed to TDE. Intriguing to say the least. I mean, TDE is annihilating the game right now. Shes had three albums. Her third one Z was released via TDE. She just toured with Jhene Aiko and Willow Smith. If I had to describe her music and compare it; its what I would call alternative neo-soul. Very reminiscent of Joi, Kelis (old school pre Bossy) Erykah Badu and a little Jill Scott as far as grit goes. Would I listen to her music on the regular? Not sure. Its not bad but its not earth shattering. It needs a bit more behind it. Like I need to feel YOU! Feel me??? Im sure being around the likes of K. Dot shell come into her own. So now I needed to get to the bottom of this collaboration. Yes, she wrote a portion of the song but for whatever reason her part was scrapped from the finished product. So there you have it.
