DID THE CATHOLIC CHURCH CHANGE THE SABBATH DAY TO SUNDAY? Yes,the Sabbath was Saturday, the last day of the week, when Christ made a new beggining the Church moved Sabbath worship to the day on which Jesus rose,Sunday,to symbolize the new beggining in Grace. Jesus also known as God,started creation anew with the Resurrection.God can change the law of God if he wanted. I would note that this is an Apotolic Tradition,so if you take issue with it,you are basically saying that you know better than all the christians who have lived the faith for the past 2000 years including the Apostles who walked with Jesus on earth and saw Him after the Ressurection. Hebrews.7:12-when there is a change in the priesthood, there is change in the Law as well.Because we have a new priest and a new priest and a new sacrifice,we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday. These are some scriptural passages that support the change of days as well as some of the fathers thoughts: scripturecatholic/sunday_worship.html
