DID YOU KNOW? - Uganda and Liberia have never played at the finals of the FIFA World Cup event unlike their other group J opponents Senegal (2002) and Angola (2006). - The two nations have previously met three times with Liberia dominating with two wins while Uganda once and no draw. - Former SC Villa midfielder Phillip Ssozi is the only Ugandan player to have found the back of the net against Liberia. He was on target in the 1-0 win over Liberia in 1999 at Nakivubo in the 2000 AFCON Qualifiers. - Uganda has not lost on home soil since 2005 when a dubious penalty aided South Africa beat the Cranes 1-0 at Namboole. - Uganda has never won three World Cup qualifying fixtures in a row and yet it’s what it must do to keep the Rio De Janeiro dream alive. -Besides CECAFA engagements, the Cranes have picked only one victory (1-0 over Zambia) in their previous four encounters. (1-1 Vs Zambia, 2-2 Vs Rwanda, 0-2 Vs Liberia and 0-3 Vs Libya). PREDICTION: Pressure is on new Cranes coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic to mastermind victory in his first home game at the helm while Liberia is keen to keep the World Cup dream. Both teams will have to approach the game cautiously as they try to defend and attack in equal measure thus a predictable exciting game for the neutrals. Too much pressure on the Cranes may lead to crumbling but being at home with a formidable home record and the crowds behind the team. I fancy the hosts to win the game.
