DID YOU KNOW THAT THE MOLLER ORGAN COMPANY WAS ONCE THE LARGEST - TopicsExpress

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE MOLLER ORGAN COMPANY WAS ONCE THE LARGEST MAKER IN THE WORLD OF PIPE ORGANS AND... THAT MOLLER ORGAN COMPANY STARTED IN GREENCASTLE? In 1877, Mathias Peter Moller rented space in Jacob Crowell’s building to make pipe organs. Previous to this, Moller had made reed organs at 42 East Franklin Street. The name of his company was the Greencastle PA Organ Company. When Moller went to the Greencastle bank to borrow money to build his own factory, he was turned down. A Hagerstown, MD bank loaned him the money, and the rest is history. This early Moller organ, that was made in Greencastle, is displayed in Allison-Antrim Museums historic 1860 house, in the small parlor. If you click on the first photograph, you can see the stenciled name of the organ company, just above the keyboard.
